Women feel sexiest at the age of 34

British women feel sexiest aged 34, new research has revealed. A study of 2,000 women has revealed women feel significantly more attractive in their thirties than any other decade of their lives.

Nearly three quarters (64 per cent) of those in their thirties said they feel more attractive due to being more confident with age, with 34 per cent claiming it was because they were in a better relationship.

A further 26 per cent of those in their thirties said they were more confident in the bedroom - and one in ten said their sex drive had increased into their thirties.

But the research also revealed a list of 'sexy' triggers for women of all ages, with knowing someone finds you attractive emerging topping the poll (52 per cent), followed by getting a compliment from your partner (46 per cent), wearing a new outfit (38 per cent) and buying sexy new underwear (37 per cent).

More than one in three women (36 per cent) said losing weight also featured high in their list of what makes them feel sexy, as did getting a compliment from a stranger (36 per cent) and getting a new hairstyle (32 per cent).

In general, 52 percent of the women surveyed claimed they feel sexy 'sometimes' - with a confident three percent saying they 'always' feel sexy.

Three quarters (75 per cent) of women said sexiness is more about feeling in control of your life than how you look physically - and a massive 84 per cent said it was all about being happy with yourself regardless of how you look.

The study also revealed the average female has four friends she thinks of as 'sexy'.

A spokeswoman for department store House of Fraser, which commissioned the study, said: 'It's great to see from the results of our research that so many women feel confident and sexy whatever their age, however it is interesting that 34 is the age we feel at the pinnacle of our sexual confidence.

'The results have shown that modern women don't need men to make them feel attractive and sexy and that they feel more confident surrounded by other women and fabulous style.'

According to the survey, 30 per cent of women feel sexier on a night out with friends than they do on a night out with their partner - and 18 per cent of women said they feel sexier in general around other women than with men.

But when it comes to compliments, most women (43 per cent) admitted a positive comment from their partner made them feel sexier than from anyone else.
