Teenage brothers left scarred after getting henna tattoos

April 21, 2014  19:09

Teenage brothers Liam and Owen Groves have been left scarred after getting temporary henna tattoos, which later burnt into their skin.

Brothers got these tattoos while on holiday in Egypt over Easter. 16-years-old Liam got a tattoo in the shape of a dragon, while 14-years-old Owen got a smaller indentation on the top part of his back. Their mother Alison Groves did not like the idea but finally agreed to let them get the tattoos because she thought they were temporary and harmless.

Then it turned out that those tattoos were not as harmless as one could think. The boys first noticed that something was wrong when they couldn’t stop itching. Then it turned out that instead of natural henna super strong black henna was used on them, and it burned the skin on their backs.

Now Liam has a red scar in the shape of a dragon on his back. Liam’s scar is smaller, but it’s still there on the top part of his back. Nobody knows if these scars will ever go away.
