From a tiny bump to nine months along in just six seconds

August 28, 2014  22:41

An expectant father has used his film-making skills to capture his wife's pregnancy in a creative and memorable way.

San Francisco-based Vine video artist Ian Padgham filmed his wife Claire Pasquier every month for nine months, documenting her changing body as her baby bump grew bigger and bigger.

Then he meticulously edited the footage down to just six seconds, with the final moment showing Claire kissing her newborn baby on the forehead, Daily Mail reports.

The popular clip has been viewed more than 9million times since it was posted on Friday, amassing more than 38,000 'likes' on Vine.

In the video, Claire - a French-born artist whose works are on display at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art - wears the same black dress, her hairstyle changing slightly with time.

She stands in the same spot in the couple's bathroom throughout, her hands behind her back to show off her burgeoning bump.

The clip may make pregnancy look like a cinch, but making the video was a complex and painstaking process.

According to Yahoo News, Ian shot two frames of video for each month of filming before carefully cutting it to six seconds. The final step was adding music in the background, and he put the video on a loop so it could be watched over and over again.

Ian, who runs a creative firm that makes brand-centric content, is not only a skilled Vine creator, but it looks as though he's ready to be a great dad, too.

He posted another Vine clip of his newborn baby's tiny hand holding his finger, with the proud caption: 'I'm the happiest man alive :)'.
