The first batch of an experimental vaccine against Ebola was sent to Liberia. A plane carrying some 300 initial doses of the vaccine was sent to the country. We are talking about the experimental vaccine worked out by American and British scientists from GlaxoSmithKline pharmaceutical company and US National Institute of Health.

A version of the vaccine has already been tested on 200 healthy volunteers successfully, so doctors have come to the conclusion that the drug does not present any hazards.

The first batch of an experimental vaccine against Ebola is on its way to Liberia. If all regulations are met, 10,000 volunteers will be given the GSK vaccine. Doctors working in the three countries most affected by the virus, Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone, will also be given the vaccine.

According to the latest data of World Health Organization, the number of people infected with the virus of Ebola fever in Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone  is 21759 people and 8668 people died.
