A 35-year-old woman loses 50 kgs after her 'selfie diet'

January 25, 2015  19:12

Selfies usually don't help people lose weight, but a 35-year-old woman from Reykjavik, Iceland, lost about 110 pounds by documenting her weight loss process with selfies that she posted on the Internet. The selfies reminded her about keeping diet and helped follow the changes in her weight.

Before losing weight, the woman weighed about 134 kgs and started cutting out wheat, sugar and starch from her daily diet, Fox News reports.

''I've always had trouble controlling my diet and have been immensely overweight since I was  18 years old. After I had my children almost seven years ago, I completely lost control of everything and put on quite a lot of weight'', told the woman.

She describes food as a “drug,” and noted that her previous diet had drained her of the energy necessary to spend quality time with her children.

Every time she craved a piece of chocolate, she scrolled back through previous photos to remind her of her health goal. She also mentions her friends also helped her greatly by commenting on the difference between ‘then’ and ‘now’ pictures.

After diet the woman feels good and feels as if she 'floates around on a pink cloud.'

It is true she still feels pain while looking at the selfies from last year, but feels better when looking at the end of the year.
