Samsung Electronics company developing device to detect strokes

January 29, 2015  22:49

A team of engineers at Samsung Electronics developed a device on the base of Creativity Lab company (C-Lab), that detects strokes by monitoring brainwaves.

The device is a headset equipped with sensors that transfer data to algorithms that allow you to observe your brainwaves. The application can be inserted on smartphones, tablets or upright computers to carry out regular health checks, CTV News reports.

The idea is to take note of irregularities earlier than what was previously feasible and take proper preventative steps. It takes 15 minutes to analyze brainwaves. The representatives of Samsung say, the device is actually even more efficient than hospital stroke detecting equipment.

The sensors are able to pick up more detail thanks to an ultra-conductive material that resembles rubber. The new material also makes it possible to wear the sensors in barrettes, eyeglasses or any piece of headgear.
