Dark chocolate is considered one of the healthiest sweets. Moreover, such chocolate is also considered useful for prolonging youth.

According to Express, scientists from Harvard University conducted a study, the results of which showed that people who consume dark chocolate lived a year longer than those who did not eat such chocolate. Due to its high content of antioxidants and minerals, dark chocolate improves blood pressure and prevents the onset of cancer and cardiovascular diseases.

Scientists have also reported that dark chocolate is beneficial for memory and brain function. Also, this product is useful for reducing insulin resistance and for slowing down aging. Moreover, the amount of active compounds in chocolate directly depends on the concentration of cocoa.

The researchers added that those people who eat three bars of dark chocolate a month prolong their lives. Their risk of premature death was 36% less than among those who refuse to use this product.
