Plant foods with omega-3 prolong life in heart disease

Nutritionists advise people with heart disease to eat foods rich in alpha-linolenic acid (a type of omega-3 fatty acid).

"Adding plenty of plant foods with omega-3 fatty acids to the diet will prolong life for people with heart and vascular disease," the experts stated.

Particularly, doctors focused on one of these acids - alpha-linolenic, which belongs to the unsaturated fatty acids.

According to the data, people with high levels of this acid are at less risk of death due to complications of cardiovascular pathologies. Walnuts are especially good for replenishing it in the body.
