Analysis of the data from the brain MRI can “detect” the risks of Alzheimer's disease at an early stage, Armenian researcher Aram Galstyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am correspondent at the Machine Learning for Scientific Discoveries workshop in Yerevan.

Galstyan is the director of the Machine Intelligence and Data Science (MINDS) group at Information Sciences Institute, University of Southern California.

“Patients who have a risk of neurological disorder are given cognative impairment tests through time, to assess if there is any deterioration in their cognative abilities. We help neuroscientists from our university to process data and build a predictive, model for diagnostic purposes. This work is still far from being used in clinical practice, but we are concstantly improving it,” Galstyan said.
The results of the works have already been published by a number of leading scientific publications.
