Doctors removed a woman’s breast after they got her cancer test results mixed up with another patient’s.

Maryam Yazdany, 46, had an eight-hour op followed by reconstructive surgery.

She was told of the blunder two months later. Mum Maryam said: “This has been such a traumatic experience, one that I will probably never recover from.

“Back in 2015 I felt a lump in my breast and went for a mammogram. They saw something and sent me for a biopsy.

“Not long after that I was diagnosed with advanced breast cancer. They said they’d have to remove my whole breast. The surgery was awful, I was in so much pain and discomfort.”

Maryam, who came to the UK from Iran in 1996, was recovering at home when the hospital called.

The stress of the operation led Maryam to close her beauty salon.
