Obese man sheds 9st by following THIS diet plan: ‘I was too fat to be a dad’

A NEW dad lost a whopping 9st after his doctor told him he was too fat to have kids.

Danny Brown weighed 25st with a 56-inch waist before making his amazing weight-loss transformation.

The van driver started hitting the gym and went on a health kick with the help of healthy online food retailer Musclefood.com.

Formerly obese, Danny went on to lose a whopping 9st and became a proud dad to a beautiful baby boy.

He had been to see his GP after three years of trying unsuccessfully for a baby with his wife.

Doctors said that the couple’s infertility could be to Danny’s unhealthy weight and they urged him to lose at least 5st before the couple could access IVF services.

Shocked Danny, from Leicestershire, decided to turn his life around by quitting his two-takeaways-a-day habit, cutting out alcohol and hitting the gym four times a week.

Amazingly after just two months of hard work and determination, Danny dropped 2st and the couple managed to conceive naturally – a possibility they had almost ruled out.

Nine months after the birth of their son Phoenix, Danny showed no signs of turning back to his old unhealthy habits and lose a further 7st.

Danny said: “I had always dreamed of being a dad but it just wasn’t happening. I never thought for one moment that it could be my weight that was stopping us.

“So when doctors told me I needed to lose at least 5st I was shocked. I knew something needed to change fast so I looked at my bad habits and tossed the takeaway menus in the bin. Holding my baby son in my arms for the first time was the most incredible feeling ever and I knew at that moment that it had all been worth it.

“My advice to anyone out there who is struggling to conceive and who knows deep down that they are out of shape is to take action and believe you can do it.

“When I was 25st I never thought I would be able to lose 9st but take it day by day, week by week, change the bad habits for good ones, and you can achieve anything. If I can do it you can too. And the rewards are so worth it.”

Ex-chef Danny has suffered from bipolar disorder since early adulthood and struggled with weight gain due to the medication he was on. He turned to food during bouts of depression.

He added: “I quit my job due to the stressful kitchen environment and took on a position as a van driver which meant I was inactive for most of the day. It also meant I was eating a lot on the go for convenience.

“A typical day’s food would consist of two bacon rolls for breakfast, a KFC from a motorway service station for lunch and a Chinese from a pub takeaway next door, I’d often down two pints waiting for my order. I had no energy and would fall asleep when I’d come home from a shift.”

Danny tried to lose weight for his wedding in 2015 through a healthy vegetarian diet and frequent walking, but it made little difference to his size before the big day.

He admitted seeing images of himself on his special day makes him upset as the kilt he wore to his wedding measured 56in around the waist.

After his impressive weight loss, Danny went from 25st to 16st 5lbs – but admits he has not yet reached his target goal and wants to carry on with his fitness.

He preps his food daily and sticks to a high protein, clean diet with lots of lean meats from the retailer.

Danny said: “Buying everything from one place is really helpful and all of the guess work is removed. The portions you get from Musclefood are always consistent and there is a huge range of meat available on the site so you can always change things up and you don’t get bored with what you’re eating.

“I want to be able to run around and play sport with my boy and be a good role model to him. I don’t want him to grow up with a lazy, overweight parent and be embarrassed.”
