Interesting case in Yerevan: After having a 9-kilogram myoma removed woman gave birth to a healthy baby
Diana Grigoryan (24) was suffering from severe pains in the abdominal region for a long time. She was also gaining weight day by day. In Erebouni MC the doctors found out that she had a huge myoma (about 9 kg). Besides, the ultrasound examination showed that she was pregnant.
The best doctors of the Maternity Clinic of Erebouni MC discussed this case and decided to perform a surgery to remove the tumor. There was a great risk of miscarriage, but everything went well. The team led the vice-director of Erebouni MC in Obstetrics-Gynecology Service Dr. Andranik Poghosyan performed the complex surgery, and 2 giant myomatous nodules weighing around 8,6 kg were removed.
During 5 months of pregnancy the woman was under observation in the Department for High Risk Pregnancy of MC Erebouni. In the 9th month of pregnancy cesarean section was carried out. A healthy baby girl was born weighing around 3 kg.
