Former model with a terminal brain tumour claims her fiancé DUMPED her days before their wedding

A young woman with a terminal brain tumour has revealed that her fiancé broke off their engagement, just days before the wedding was planned - after she put on five stone.

Emily Nicholson, 24, from York, who had previously worked as a model, said that her fiancé Jamie Smith proposed when they were both living in Perth, Australia.

She was then diagnosed with a grade 3 astrocytoma, an incurable cancerous brain tumour, and was initially given just a year to live.

Jamie was supportive at first, but after she put on five stone due to steroid treatment and went from a size 6 to 16, she claims Jamie dumped her via Facebook Messenger.

The pair were arguing over Facebook Messenger, with Jamie accusing Emily of being a b****, and saying that he wouldn't put up with her bad behaviour any longer.

Emily said to Jamie: 'I've always loved you and always will. Do you want to call it a day then?'

He replied, saying: 'I wanted to call it a day along time ago, Em.'

Emily told The Sun: 'For months he'd been going out with his friends but obviously I couldn't do that because I was ill.

'It just came out of the blue, it was horrendous. Now I don't feel anything about him, he hurt me but there's no point getting upset.'

Jamie told the Sun that it was actually Emily that dumped him and that the break up wasn't anything to do with the weight gain from the steroids.

Emily, who was originally from York, was diagnosed in February 2016 after suffering seizures.

She moved back to the UK recently so that she could have pioneering immunotherapy treatment.

However the treatment costs £30,000 - so her friends and family have started a GoFundMe page to pay for treatment in Germany.

Emily has already exceeded doctors' expectations after initially being told she had 12 to 18 months to live.
