The Ainsworth now serves ritzy cannabis-infused dishes

The hottest food trend for 2018 just went up a few more degrees.

CBD, the cannabis and hemp isolate, or full name cannabidiol, started as a remedy for chronic pain, anxiety and sleeping issues. It can also be used as an alternative to powerfully addictive prescription pain medicine.

Then restaurants like Bubby’s, in tony Tribeca, began putting CBD in their coffee.

In Delray Beach, Fla., it’s gone soda shop: in ice cream floats, sundaes and milkshakes spiked with CBD oil.

Now The Ainsworth, a restaurant and bar known for its thousand-dollar, 24-karat chicken wings — yes, the wings are dusted in real gold — has created a full-on CBD menu.

The menu launches at The Ainsworth Midtown, at 45 E. 33rd St., this week. The chain also has locations in Chelsea, the East Village, FiDi, Hoboken, Newark, Kansas City and Nashville.

On the menu are hemp green collards, CBD-infused burgers, mac and cheese, wings and margarita bread.

“Our CBD isolate is infused into each dish, whether it is injected into the meat of the burger, mixed in with the sauce or cheese for the mac and cheese,” says Ainsworth co-founder Brian Mazza.

“More and more people are using CBD because of its amazing benefits, and how easy it is to mix with your daily lifestyle.”
