Woman was left with just ONE huge nostril after her dog bit through her nose

February 19, 2019  10:41

A WOMAN whose nose was broken by her dog in a freak accident has revealed how she has been living with just one HUGE nostril for the past 11 years.

Appearing on E!'s Botched, Laura Schild opened up about the horrific ordeal that has left her so insecure about her appearance that she fears even going out in public.

"There's a hole in my nose now that leads directly down to my throat," Laura explained. "Everything's gone."

Before her accident, Laura, 47, said: "I had a nice face. I liked my nose, I didn't want to change anything about me."

However, that all changed when an accidental incident with her pet dog left her scarred for life.

She said: "About 11 years ago, I went to kiss the top of my dog Brutus' head and he came up at the same time and he broke my nose and the tooth went through the middle of my nose."

Despite rushing to the hospital, surgeons told Laura there was nothing they could do until her nose - which was severed from her upper lip - had healed.

Following this, Laura then visited a plastic surgeon to fix her life-changing injury by reattaching her nose to her lip.

But while she thought she was finally going to have her nose back the way it once was, the surgery sadly did not go as planned.

She added: "I had the surgery, and then I wake up and could not believe what I saw."

After having "solid stitches" from halfway up her nose down to her lip, Laura added: "In the middle, I had, apparently, a piece of rib bone, but it was just solid, crusted blood."

Although Laura was hopeful at first that her nose would start to heal, the area instead began to turn black in the weeks that followed.

Much to her horror, the surgeon told Laura that her nose had become infected and there was nothing more they could do.

She recalled: "Two or three days after that, my rib bone came out the middle of my nose and I was left with nothing.

"No middle, no bottom. Nothing."

Unsurprisingly, Laura has been left "devastated" by her ordeal.

"I couldn't even look in the mirror because it didn't even look like me anymore," she continued.

"Still to this day, 11 years later, I still don't like having my picture taken. It's terrible."
