Overweight virgin who ‘doesn't like men, sex or booze’ mysteriously gives birth

February 20, 2019  22:42

She reportedly refused to accept she was giving birth after being brought to a hospital with abdominal pains, telling doctors she didn’t like men or sex and was allergic to alcohol.

"Impossible. It's not possible that I'm pregnant!" she said when the obstetrician broke the news.

The woman, who is in her 20s and comes from Guiyang, China, had not noticed that she was pregnant because of her very large size, according to doctors.

She was rushed to the emergency room at a hospital in the city with the help of her parents, according to Guiyang Evening Post on February 15.

Medics were shocked to learn that she was completely oblivious to the fact that she was going into labour. The staff insisted she had been genuinely surprised to learn the baby was on the way and insisted medics carry out a virginity test first before a C-section.

One physician, who declined to be named in the report, said: "She demanded that we perform a virginity test on her. It was very frustrating."

The medical staff reportedly said the women explained that she "doesn't like men" and has "never had a boyfriend, much less sex".

It was after a doctor asked if impregnation could have happened during a drunken blackout, that she said she was "allergic to alcohol and doesn't touch booze".

The medics told the woman her weight may have been why she did not notice, but she was not convinced.

"There was nothing more we could say to convince her that she was going into labor," the doctor said.

The woman also lives alone and has an irregular menstrual cycle.

The baby boy was born on February 6 and handed to the woman's parents after she refused to nurse him.

The hospital's head of obstetrics said: "It's not the first time we've had a mother who only realised she was pregnant right before giving birth.

"They are usually underage and lacking in knowledge about their physiology.

"But this patient is in her 20s and was educated, so we're particularly surprised."

It is not known if the mother planned to give her son up for adoption and it remains unclear who the father is.
