Lisa Pace, 43, of Knoxville, Tennessee, used to use tanning beds every day in the 1990s, however, the woman did not even suspect that one day her love for a beautiful tan would result in skin cancer and dozens of surgeries, The Daily Mail reported.
In 2000, a 23-year-old Liza was diagnosed with melanoma. According to a Melanoma Research Alliance study, tanning beds increase the risk of developing melanoma by 75%. It is noteworthy that after a terrible diagnosis, Lisa began to visit the solarium again.
'I started tanning every day, or every other day,' she said. 'It was addictive. People would say: "You look so good, you look tan", and it just encouraged me.
By the age of 30, she underwent 50 operations, and to date, their number has exceeded 80. 'I know I'm going to win this battle,' she wrote in the blog post.
