A 50-year-old patient from the UK was diagnosed with bronchogenic carcinoma. However, during the operation to remove the tumor, it turned out that there was no tumor, but a toy road cone, which the patient swallowed back in 197, the British Medical Journal reported.

The toy was in the patient's right lung, however, 3 years ago, a man turned to specialists with chronic cough. He was diagnosed with pneumonia, thickening in the right lung, bronchiectasis.

At the age of 47, the patient underwent computed tomography and bronchoscopy. Doctors suspected he had a tumor that needed to be removed.

However, during the operation, Dr. Mohammed Munavvar from the Royal Preston Hospital found a toy cone instead of a tumor, which was stuck in the patient's bronchus mucosa. According to the doctor, the toy stuck in the bronchi could lead to a number of problems, increasing the risk of developing pneumonia and scarring of the lungs, which can contribute to respiratory failure.

After four months after the removal of the toy, the patient’s cough almost disappeared, and an x-ray showed only a slight residual infection in the lungs and a slight irritation.
