Apple Watch saves man’s life identifying heart problems

July 18, 2019  09:40

Paul Hutton, 48, identified in time a life-threatening condition thanks to the Apple Watch, The Telegraph reported

According to the source, last November, Apple Watch received a warning that Paul’s heart was beating too slowly. Thus, the heart rate was less than 40 beats per minute, while at rest this figure should be 60-100. This forced the man to seek medical advice.

The survey revealed a heart disease, which caused the development of arrhythmia. This condition greatly increased the risk of blood clots and stroke. During the surgery, doctors burned tiny areas of faulty heart tissue.

Hutton has now recovered from the surgery and joked his heart “even coped” while watching England’s World Cup cricket final at the weekend.
