New danger of e-cigarette revealed
Researchers at Yale reveal the harm of Juul e-cigarettes. They found out that chemical reactions in flavored liquids of e-cigarette create unexpected chemicals that can irritate users’ airways.
They were able to detect acetals both in flavoured liquids, one of the researchers said adding that this is the first report of the presence of glycerol acetals in e-cigarette aerosol, news.yale.edu reported.
According to the experts, over 2 million people are using e-cigarettes in U.S only and most of them prefer Juul which resemble USB.
The researchers were also shocked to find so many additional chemicals formed from vanillin, a compound used for vanilla flavoring.
The results of the research were published in the American Journal of Preventive Medicine.
