A baby weighing just 13 ounces was born in the US, Iowa, The Sun reported.
The boy was born prematurely at the 23rd week of pregnancy.
His mother unexpectedly lost water on July 11, after which she needed urgent hospitalization.
Doctors decided to have an emergency caesarean section. Until November, the baby, who was named Jaden, will have to undergo treatment in the intensive care unit, but his parents are full of optimism and hope for the best.
The premature babies can have long-term health problems, and therefore they need a long stay in the hospital, while according to American experts, children born before the 24th week of pregnancy, survival is less than 50%.
