Love for karaoke almost killed a resident of the Chinese district of Nanchang, South China Morning Post reported.
According to the source, a 65-year-old man identified as Wang performed 10 songs in a row, trying to pick high notes until he felt pain in his chest.
He was diagnosed with lung collapse (pneumothorax) in the hospital.
Peng Bin-fei, a doctor from emergency department at Nanchang hospital told PearVideo that this condition could prove life-threatening.
“The patient suffered from a lung collapse because of the high lung pressure caused by singing high notes,” he explained.
