Researchers from the UK and Denmark have developed a chlamydia vaccine. According to the results of the first stage of clinical trials involving 35 healthy women, no adverse reactions were detected, The Lancet Infectious Diseases reported

Chlamydia is one of the most common sexually transmitted diseases. After a clinical trial, a blood test of volunteers showed that their body had developed specific antibodies and T cells against chlamydia. A high level of antibodies was also detected in the study of the mucous secretion of the subjects.

The scientists plan to conduct larger-scale trials of the chlamydia vaccine.
