October 13, 2019  16:38

Our health and life expectancy are largely related to the way we live, how we eat and how much we sleep. We present to your attention a few simple tips that will significantly increase your chances of surviving to 100 years, while remaining as healthy as possible.

Stick to the Mediterranean diet

Proper nutrition is very important for maintaining health, and the Mediterranean diet is considered the most proper diet today, which is included in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, olive oil and fish. This diet reduces the risk of developing a metabolic syndrome - a combination of obesity, high blood sugar, high blood pressure and other factors that increase the risk of heart disease and diabetes.

Do not smoke

If a person give up smoking at the age of 30, this can give him 10 additional years of life and reduce the risk of developing a number of diseases, including lung cancer and heart disease. If you give up smoking at the age of 40, 50 or 60 years, your life expectancy will still increase to 9, 6 or 3 years, so it's never too late to quit smoking.

Fight overweight

Excess body fat contributes to the development of diabetes, high blood pressure, heart attacks and other diseases that shorten life expectancy. First of all, fat on the stomach poses a threat to health and life. His loss in this part of the body gives extra years of life.

Get married

A number of studies show that married people live longer than single people. The reason for this may be the social and economic support that marriage offers. A successful and happy marriage extends life for many years, but even those who are divorced or widowed have a longer life expectancy than those who have never been married.

Get enough sleep

Lack of sleep and stress contribute to the development of many diseases and shorten life expectancy. Try to sleep at least 7-8 hours a day and control stress through meditation and breathing exercises.
