Unusual taste of wine becomes sign of heart attack

October 17, 2019  23:06

Louise McGill, 45, from the English village of Waterhouse, Staffordshire, faced an unusual symptom: the taste of wine seemed strange to her, and as it turned out, it was a sign of a heart attack, Mirror reported.

"The first sign that something wasn’t right was when I had a glass of wine and it tasted really funny. My husband tried some too and said it was fine, so I didn’t think much of it. That night, I woke up just after midnight with excruciating pain and pressure in my chest. At first I thought it might be indigestion but I quickly realised that something wasn’t right and my husband called an ambulance. When the paramedics arrived they said they thought I was having a heart attack. I looked at my husband and just started sobbing," she said.

She was immediately taken to a hospital in Newcastle upon Tyne and stented the coronary artery.
