Scientists name best way to fight diabetes

People who exercise before breakfast burn twice as much fat as those who have sports after eating, said scientists from the University of Bath and the University of Birmingham in the UK.

According to them, early physical activity also helps regulate blood sugar levels.

As EurekAlert! noted, a 30-week study involved 30 men with overweight or obese. Volunteers were divided into two groups, one of which had breakfast before exercise, whil the second group after. Thus, physical activity in the morning on an empty stomach turned to contribute to better fat burning during the day. Classes also increased tissue sensitivity to insulin, keeping blood sugar at an optimal level.

Men in both groups, on average, lost the same amount of weight and had a similar physical shape. However, in the muscles of those who exercised before breakfast, there was an increase in key proteins that are involved in transporting glucose and blood flow to the muscles.
