Measles case recorded in Armenia

Measles case has been recorded in Armenia. The patient arrived in Armenia on October 6 from Russia.

The situation in Armenia is stable, but there have been seven laboratory-confirmed cases since the beginning of the year, which are epidemiologically linked to Ukraine, Georgia and Russia.

Measles is a highly viral, highly contagious disease characterized by severe intoxication, rash, and fever. The infection is transmitted by air.

Vaccinations are the safest and most effective public health measures that save millions of lives every year.

Persons who do not have at least two measles vaccines are advised to go to the local polyclinic and be vaccinated.
