May 11, 2020  11:07

A group of researchers from the University of Oxford and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine analyzed data from millions of patients and revealed key death factors from COVID-19. Their study was published on medRxiv.

Scientists have collected health information for 17 million Britons. Applying the Cox mathematical model, scientists found that the probability of dying of COVID-19 is higher among black people and Asians.

Other risk factors included age, diabetes, and severe asthma. According to them, males, as well as people with low income, most often die of COVID-19.

During the studies from February 1 to April 25, 5,683 patients with confirmed COVID-19 died from a selected group of people.
