Armenia health minister: Wearing face masks might be mandatory for 1-2 years

May 21, 2020  12:49

Wearing face masks in closed spaces and in the closed spaces of economic operators (prescribed by the instructions of the Commandant for the state of emergency in Armenia) will be mandatory so long as it is necessary to carry out anti-epidemic measures to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. This is what Minister of Health of Armenia Arsen Torosyan told reporters today.

“I believe this might take one or two years. I have stated several times that we need to be ready for a long battle,” the minister said and recalled that there are rules for wearing face masks the right way and that those rules will help reduce the risk of catching the virus.

According to the minister, people who can’t wear face masks due to health problems must be under supervision and not put the health of other people at risk in their workplaces.
