May 21, 2020  14:44

No cases of Kawasaki syndrome have been reported among children infected with COVID-19 in Armenia.

However, appropriate steps are being taken to ensure that these patients are able to receive appropriate medical care if such cases occur.

Drugs used to treat the syndrome has been purchased, Armenian health minister Arsen Torosyan told reporters on Thursday.

Kawasaki syndrome is an autoimmune disease, the causes of which are still unknown to medicine.

According to the minister, the statistics of this syndrome in Armenia have not changed. To date, we have had only three such cases.

Earlier the minister noted that there are 23 pregnant women and 270 children infected with the coronavirus in Armenia.
