Unreported COVID-19 cases may cause 2nd wave of pandemic, experts say

July 17, 2020  11:29

Chinese Wuhan has not reported up to 87% of COVID-19 cases from January to March 2020, and this could lead to a second wave of the pandemic, Nature reported referring to a study.

According to Medportal, it is possible that COVID-19 patients, potentially including asymptomatic and mild-symptomatic cases, play a large role in the spread of the disease.

Chinese scientists analyzed the dynamics of the COVID-19 spread during the outbreak in Wuhan using the example of 32,582 lab-confirmed cases.
