WHO chief: COVID-19 pandemic effects will be 'felt for decades to come'

The COVID-19 pandemic effects will be 'felt for decades to come,' Reuters reported referring to the World Health Organization chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesuson.

“The pandemic is a once-in-a-century health crisis, the effects of which will be felt for decades to come,” Tedros told a meeting of the WHO’s emergency committee.

According to Worldometers, over 17,7 million COVID-19 cases and 683,798 deaths have been reported globally.
