China's COVID-19 vaccine could hit the market in 3 months
The Chinese inactivated coronavirus vaccine may hit the market at the end of December this year, Reuters reported referring to the chairman of the board of directors of the state corporation Sinopharm Liu Jingzhen.
The UAE is currently in the third stage of testing this vaccine, which involves about 15,000 people and uses two vaccine strains.
The manufacturer hopes to complete the latest human trials within about 3 months, although the drug was expected to be ready no earlier than 2021.
Liu Jingzhen noted that vaccine immunogenicity studies have been taking place since February 16. First, the vaccine was tested on seven types of experimental animals, including white rats, mice, guinea pigs, macaques, and rabbits. Then a small group of people was vaccinated, after which clinical trials have already begun.
