September 11, 2020  13:36

Russian researchers have found a method of treating the coronavirus without ventilators. This was announced by Valery Chereshnev, Scientific Director of the Institute of Immunology and Physiology of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, RIA Novosti reported.

According to him, a helium-oxygen mixture inhalation was tested on 50 patients with severe COVID-19. Researchers improved the inhalation devices and created separate systems for breathing and exhaling air.
And after this inhalation, only one patient still needed a ventilator.

Chereshnev said this test was a success. According to him, the using of ventilators is a rather heavy burden on the body, whereas the helium-oxygen mixture that is heated to 90-95 degrees Celsius is gives a much better result than ventilators.
