Yerevan ambulance serves 15,420 coronavirus patients in 2020
In 2020, the Yerevan Ambulance Service served 15,420 patients with coronavirus. Taguhi Stepanyan, Director of Emergency Medical Care CJSC, told this to a press conference Monday.
According to her, the highest number of coronavirus-related patient calls was recorded in Yerevan in May—2,580, whereas the lowest was in August—864.
As per Stepanyan, in 2020, the Yerevan ambulance service responded to 322,167 calls, which are 59,726 more than in 2019.
As for the recent New Year holidays, according to the specialist, they were “calmer” than in the previous year. Accordingly, 6,533 calls were responded to, which is 1,377 less than in 2019. And 1,204 patients were hospitalized, which 453 fewer than the same period in the previous year.
