January 12, 2021  11:18

In recent days, the situation with the coronavirus was stabilizing in Armenia. The recurrence indicator of the infection in the last 14 days was 0.84, whereas in the previous 14 days it was 1.43. Gayane Sahakyan, Deputy Director General of the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention, head of the national immunization program, said this to a press conference Tuesday.

According to her, since people probably interacted a lot with each other during the New Year holidays, it is predicted that there will be some intensification of COVID-19 in Armenia in the near future.

As of Tuesday morning, 162,643 cases of coronavirus were recorded in Armenia, and the respective mortality rate was 1.8 percent.

At the moment, about 16.5 percent of the COVID-19 tests conducted in Armenia come out positive, whereas in the past about 26 percent of these tests were positive.
