Oral insulin successfully tested in rodents

April 8, 2021  11:21

Scientists at New York University have presented nanoparticles that can make insulin suitable for oral administration.

These particles have already been successfully tested in rodents, and they reduced sugar levels quickly enough without the risk of insulin overdose.

According to TASS, nanoparticles are made from metal-organic frameworks - polymers similar in structure to a honeycomb and characterized by high porosity and strength. They contain metal ions and various organic compounds.
