Why are pickles dangerous?

June 4, 2021  15:25

A pickle can contain up to 66% of the daily sodium requirement for an adult, nutritionist Jay Cowin noted.

However, it can be difficult to limit yourself to one cucumber, as they are very tasty. Because of this, the body receives an excessive amount of salt, which is harmful to health, he said.

Over-consumption of pickles can lead to high blood pressure and kidney problems in the long term, doctors noted.

Since pickled cucumbers are low in calories, a person who eats them too often may start to overeat, fighting the false feeling of hunger.
