What foods are dangerous for pancreas?

August 3, 2021  09:47

Eating large amounts of sugary or high-calorie foods not only leads to excess accumulation of adipose tissue, but also to the death of pancreatic cells, endocrinologist Zukhra Pavlova reported.

"In the adipose tissue, systemic inflammation with oxidative stress inevitably occurs, against the background of which insulin resistance develops and the cells of the pancreas that produce insulin die," Pavlova explained.

The endocrinologist recommended taking 3-hour breaks between meals, but fasting for more than 5 hours is not worth it, since during fasting, an enzyme that monitors the level of nutrients (lipoprotein lipase) is activated in adipose tissue, which leads to the accumulation of fat reserves.
