What products are recommended to be excluded from the diet for post-COVID-19 syndrome?

According to Doctor of Medical Sciences, Director of the Samara Research Institute of Dietetics and Diet therapy Mikhail Ginzburg, this syndrome is an increase in inflammatory activity in the body, in this regard, an anti-inflammatory diet is recommended for patients with it.

"It is necessary, if possible, to remove sugar and foods with a high glycemic index, that is, products made from sifted flour, potatoes, rice. Also palm, sunflower, corn, soybean oil, margarine, red meat and products from it, sausages, small sausages, products of deep processing," he told Ura.ru.

It is recommended to add foods that are rich in fatty acids to the diet, the doctor noted.

"Have foods rich in Omega-3 and fatty acids - this is fatty sea fish, flaxseed and olive oil (Omega-9). Add more vegetables, berries, herbs and not too sweet fruits, fermented milk drinks, without sugar, and complex carbohydrates — buckwheat, oatmeal, bran bread," he added.
