Two years of experience show that lockdowns cannot achieve the final result in the fight against the coronavirus. Minister of health Anahit Avanesyan told this to reporters Thursday—and regarding the COVID-19 situation in Armenia.

According to her, the country’s schools are currently on a one-week break to prevent the further spread of this disease, the possibility of extending this break for another week is also being discussed, and the country’s universities have switched to online classes.

"This, of course, will help us so that we have a result of curbing the spread of the virus in the context of reduced overall movement. And in two weeks, I assure you, we will record some lessening in numbers," Avanesyan added.
