How can diabetes be manifested on skin?

January 13, 2022  09:40

Diabetes negatively affects all human organs, including the skin, warn experts from the American Academy of Dermatology.

According to them, diabetes can be indicated also by a symptom visible to the naked eye. It is the emergence of small red blisters like acne, which over time turn into yellow, red, or even brown ovoid spots.

Most often, such injuries are found on the skin of the lower leg.

The skin of the affected areas may also be rough or swollen.

Dermatologist Reagan Anderson noted that the mere fact of having such skin problems does not mean that a person has diabetes; but if you notice such a problem, it is recommended to consult a doctor to find out its cause.
