YEREVAN. – A few days ago, Armenia was in the "green zone" by EU standards in the context of the coronavirus pandemic, but the country abruptly entered the "orange zone" over the course of the past two to three days. Romella Abovyan, head of the Epidemiology Department of Nosocomial Infections at the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention of the Ministry of Health, told about this to reporters Thursday.

According to the specialist, a sharp increase in the number of COVID-19 cases has been registered in Armenia in recent days, and the reproduction rate of this disease has increased to 2.3 in the country.

Moreover, as per Abovyan, an increase in coronavirus cases is being recorded in all age groups of children and adolescents in Armenia.
