Improper nutrition is one of the main causes of joint diseases, according to dietician Svetlana Fus.

According to RIA Novosti, the specialist recommends including more calcium-rich foods in the diet to keep joints healthy, because when it is deficient, the body takes the mineral from bone tissue, which can lead to osteoporosis.

She recommends not to abuse dairy products: they should occupy a certain share of the diet.

Vitamin D is also essential for healthy joints, as it promotes normal bone growth and is responsible for strong teeth. It is found in cod liver, egg yolks, and butter.

The body also needs vitamin C for the synthesis of collagen, which directly affects the condition of the skin, joints and bones. This vitamin is found in citrus fruits, berries, as well as in kiwi and peppers.

The doctor also recommends eating foods rich in selenium and sulfur. According to her, selenium is involved in the process of nourishing the joints. It is found in foods such as Brazil nuts, fish, garlic, eggs, chicken, turkey, and beef liver, as well as mushrooms, cottage cheese, and cereals.

Sulfur is rich in all kinds of meat and fish, as well as dairy products, eggs, legumes and cereals.
