Finger numbness: What is most common cause of this problem?

March 17, 2022  11:30

The most common cause of hand numbness is the so-called tunnel syndrome. This was reported by neurologists Yuri Andrusov and Pavel Khoroshev.

"If we are talking about numbness of the fingers of the hand relatively constant or coming, then the cause is some kind of lesions of the nerves that run on the hand. The most common cause of such numbness is so-called tunnel syndromes. This is a condition in which a particular nerve at some point begins to get trapped in the most vulnerable places," Andrusov told Ura.ru.

According to him, most often a nerve gets crushed in the wrist and at the bend of the hand. This may cause numbness of the middle, index and ring fingers. Another reason for such a problem could be compression of the ulnar nerve in the elbow joint.

Khoroshev, in turn, notes that alcohol consumption and even improper nutrition may lead to finger numbness. In particular, this happens if a person's diet lacks foods containing vitamin B group.
