May 17, 2022  23:36

Bright scents can restore the sense of smell lost after being infected with coronavirus, Deputy Director for Clinical Work at the Gabrichevsky Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology Tatiana Ruzhentsova told RIA Novosti.

The specialist advised to use perfume or flowers with a bright fragrance to practice inhalation. In addition, the use of different spices carries a certain benefit, said Ruzhentsova. She pointed out that at the moment there are no drugs in the world which could universally help patients suffering from COVID-19 to restore the sense of smell.

In turn, the therapist Pavel Chukhlyaev said that in some cases the patient may be prescribed drugs to reduce the swelling of the nasopharyngeal mucosa, which can accelerate the recovery process.
