Stent for Life provides 2,443 services in fiscal year 2022

The state-run Stent for Life program will provide 2,443 services in fiscal year 2022 (December 16, 2021 to December 15, 2022), the Armenian Healthcare Ministry reported.
Stent for Life program provides free installation of one drug-eluting stent for acute myocardial infarction, and aorto-coronary bypass surgery on preferential terms.
Required clinical criteria:
- Diagnosis of acute myocardial infarction with ST elevation
- Diagnosis of acute ST-elevation myocardial infarction with a troponin score >1000g/L and thrombosis or significantly unstable stenosis of the infarction-responsive oblique artery and one of its marginal branches.
- Emergency cardiac surgery is performed within 12 hours after the clinical manifestation of ischemic symptoms, including the time of clarification of the diagnosis and transportation of the patient to a medical facility.
