March 7, 2023  10:33

As of 10am Tuesday, the number of laboratory-confirmed measles cases has reached 29 in Armenia, 15 people have been hospitalized, and 7 have been discharged from hospitals, the Ministry of Health informs.

Out of the 29 infected, 26 are not vaccinated against measles, and 3 are vaccinated with one dose.

They are in moderate condition.

On March 3, it became known that 11 cases of lab-confirmed measles were recorded in Armenia.

As of Monday, however, the number of lab-confirmed measles cases had reached 20.

According to the Armenian national vaccination schedule, measles vaccinations are intended for children 1 and 6 years old.

The Ministry of Health urges parents of such children who have not received scheduled vaccinations against measles to contact their registered polyclinic and have their kids vaccinated against measles.

At the same time, persons who have been in contact with measles patients and who do not have a two-dose vaccination against measles are also subject to vaccination.
