Acrux, new subvariant of omicron strain, detected in Armenia

Acrux, a new subvariant of the omicron strain, has been detected in Armenia, reports the Ministry of Health.
According to Tuesday’s data, 71 new cases of COVID-19 were recorded in the country in the last seven days, and this is an increase by 29 compared to the previous week.
Respective positive test results also have increased in Armenia compared to the previous week, making up 29.1 percent against last week’s 28.4 percent.
For early detection of COVID-19 in primary healthcare and medical facilities, the suspected cases are now being tested among patients with acute respiratory infections.
