Sex positions that women say are the most ROMANTIC - and men agree

With the exception of one obvious difference, men and women seem to agree on romantic sex positions.

With Valentine's Day coming soon we're all getting ourself into a hot mess over what to do, when and how much to spend on it. But let us take some of the stress away by revealing the most romantic sex positions.

The survey, conducted by Euroclinix , asked 2000 adults which positions they found most romantic.

In some ways it's no surprise that both men and women think that missionary is the most romantic position with a combined total of 56 per cent opting to for this as their favourite.

Women liked it more than men, with 64 per cent of ladies putting it first and 48 per cent of men. But you can see why, it's a position that can give you eye contact, let you talk to each other and have a cuddle after.

Boys also snuck in a preference for a slightly different kind of missionary position too, with 8 per cent claiming anal sex was dead romantic. Women were silent on the issue.

In its place ladies said they were down for a bit of scissoring, with 3 per cent of respondents rating it.

Also rated highly, again with both men and women agreeing, was spooning. Coming in second, this position seems to offer the intimacy people are looking for in their celebration of St Valentine.

More agreement between men and women was prevalent in the third choice, which was cowgirl. That got 4 per cent with women and 10 per cent with men.

The reverse cowgirl didn't get any love though, because it's not that romantic staring at someone's back.

Finally, in fifth place, is doggy. No idea how that got in as romantic, perhaps everyone had run out of sex positions they could recall off the top of their heads. Still, dogs probably find it the height of sophistication.

Presumably we could all make sex a lot more romantic by throwing some rose petals about and saying nice things to each other, so perhaps give that a go too.

Have you got a favourite romantic sex position? We bet you have, don't feel like you have to tell us though.
